Meet the Team

Ricardo Frederick Evans

Co-Host, Producer

Ricardo is a native Washingtonian, and lover of the stage and screen.  He studied acting in his hometown at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts where he also returned to serve as a faculty member.  He has worked as a teaching artist with the Folger Shakespeare Library and their touring company "Bill's Buddies".  He also toured with the Young Playwrights Theatre teaching playwriting to and performing plays written by youth.  He served on the Board and as President of the Actors Center - one of DC's great resources for the performing artist.

Some of his theatre credits include: The Price, Our War (Arena Stage); Two Trains Running (Round House Theatre); Twelfth Night (Taffety Punk Theatre Company); Hercules in Russia (Doorway Arts Ensemble);  In the Red and Brown Water (Studio Theatre); The Jungle Book, Sinbad:The Untold Tale, Rumpelstiltskin, Dr. Dolittle, Disney's Mulan, Ferdinand the Bull, The Borrowers, Charlotte's Web, Cinderella Eats Rice and Beans, and Abiyoyo (Imagination Stage).  He was honored to receive a Helen Hayes nomination for his work in Dr. Dolittle.
 

Ricardo's film credits include 48-hour films like Therapy, Restraint, Presence (Cavegirl Productions); Of Dice and Men based on the play by Cameron McNary; The Father and The Bear and Route 30 Three! both directed by John Putch (check out his profile on IMDB).

Jennifer Sassaman

Co-Host, Producer

Since graduating with an honors BA in Performing Arts Jennifer has directed and choreographed over seventy productions, performed in over plays and musicals, recorded vocal tracks for various albums, written multiple shows; and taught hundreds of teenagers and college students a deeper understanding of the craft of theater.  

 

Jennifer received a BA in Performing Arts with Honors from Bradford College and studied at the British American Drama Academy in London.  In May of 2009, she graduated from the Florida State University School of Theatre with an MFA in Directing.  She has also studied Spanish at the Costa Rican Language Academy and has a certificate in Advanced Intermediate Spanish. 


Jennifer has started two theater companies (so far) and spent a decade teaching at the University level.  But most importantly she is the proud mother of the brilliant and adorable Madeleine Arden Sassaman, known to those who love her as MadSass.

Samuel Fitzwater-Butchart

Sound Engineer, Producer

 

Hailing from Milwaukee, Sam has worked for theater companies such as Skylight Music Theatre, Next-Act Theatre, as well as Theatre Gigante among others. He is currently holds resident artist positions with Theatre Gigante (WI) I Am My Own Wife, Metamorphosis, Tarzan (U.S. premiere), Spalding Gray: Stories Left To Tell (Midwest Premier) Three Crows Theatre (IL), Our Country’s Good, Trojan Women, These Shining Lives, and Open Door Theatre (VT), Proof. Upcoming productions include Beggars Opera, with Theatre Gigante.
